49 Marine Avenue provides GP and family health services to patients in and around the North Tyneside area. We offer a wide range of clinics as well as GP appointments, and patients can often be seen by other healthcare professionals within the practice such as practice nurses and a pharmacist.
We are part of Northumbria Primary Care Limited which is a partnership between local GP surgeries and a top performing NHS trust, Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust.

Seeing the Doctor
Patients at 49 Marine Avenue Surgery are registered with the practice not with an individual GP and all GP’s at the practice are happy to consult with any patient about any problem.
We do understand that some patients prefer to always see the same GP and some patients may have a preference to see a male or female GP. We will always do our best to enable this to happen
The practice has recently been accredited as a research ready practice. This means that we are able to participate in research studies for primary care (GP) practices. From time to time patients may receive invitations to take part in research studies. You should note the following important points:
- Patients are under no obligation to take part in any research
- If you receive an invitation and do not wish to take part, this will in no way affect your medical care
- Patient information is always confidential and is never given to anyone outside this practice without your signed consent
If you would like to know more about research in primary care or within the Practice please speak to Dr Norman, Sister Grieves or the practice manager
All GP practices are required to declare the mean earnings (e.g. average pay) for GPs working to deliver NHS services to patients at each practice.
The average pay for GPs working at 49 Marine Avenue Surgery in the last financial year was £52,139 before tax and national insurance.
This is for 6 part-time GPs.
